Arusha National Park is Tanzania's most accessible park in more ways than one. It's not only conveniently located, but it's also the best place to embark on walking and canoeing safaris - putting you closer to the action than anywhere else in the country!. While Arusha National Park has no large predators, it is home to Africa's largest giraffe population, a variety of primate species, and a number of large herbivores. It's the perfect day out for a family or those wanting something different to the standard game drive experience.
Day 1: Arusha National Park Tour
We’ll pick you up from your accommodation in Moshi around 7 in the morning and drive for about 1,5 hours before we reach the entrance of Arusha National Park. From here you’ll drive to Momella gate, where an armed ranger will be waiting for you to start a walking safari. Yes, you read that right! Arusha National Park is one of the few parks to offer this option, and we highly recommend it as it allows you to get really close to the animals.
If you wish to skip the walking, we can also arrange a full-day game drive for you, please just let us know during your reservation. You’ll almost certainly see zebras, giraffes, baboons, buffalos and colobus monkeys, and with a bit of luck maybe you’ll even spot an elephant or a leopard. The landscapes are stunning as well, with the Momella lakes and the Ngurdoto crater as absolute highlights. Around the lakes, you’ll also be able to see hundreds or thousands of flamingos.
After a picnic lunch, we’ll take you on a game drive that will last for most of the afternoon, to discover even more places that are not reachable during the walking safari. You’ll be back in Moshi between 7 and 8 pm approximately.

History Of Marangu Route
The Marangu route is the original Kilimanjaro route. It's the only route where you don't camp, but instead stay in communal A-frame huts. It's not a tough route, but it has a low success rate because you're not given much time to acclimatise.
The Marangu is one of the oldest and most popular Kilimanjaro route. It's sometimes called the Coca-Cola route because you stay in huts and can buy a Coke en route.
The Marangu route approaches the summit from the southeast of the mountain. Overall it's a relatively easy route, having very few steep climbs.
That said, The Marangu route's acclimatisation profile is mediocre, as it doesn't allow much time for acclimatisation. Fewer people therefore make it to the top when you look at its summit success rate compared with those of the other routes.
